Today was a wonderful day with P and L (aka the artists LPA) who came to see us in Verona, bringing a copy of their incredible project Fili di Seta (Silk Threads) for us to look at. We’ve seen the video (and you can see it too here, but it is even more impressive, more beautiful in person. It is no wonder it will be part of a big show in Venice starting next week. It is the result of several years of work and artistic production about the silk industry in Rovereto, Italy.
It also has a special connection for me, because some of my ancestors worked in the silk factories in Manchester, which I only discovered after we moved there.
Finally, after I helped them get a taxi back to the train station, I took this photo of L’Arena, the Roman amphitheater. The blue is a bit exaggerated, but it is still a fair representation.
