A wonderful visit to Bolzano

We had a wonderful, though quick visit to Bolanzo and saw lots of old friends. This one was the oldest of all:

Walter von der Vogelweide

That’s Walther von der Vogelweide, a minstrel (roughly) who is associated with Bolzano. (Oddly, the English Wikipedia doesn’t really mention that, but the German one does.) The main square in Bolzano is named after him, and we saw a lot of him the three years we lived there.

In the last 4 years, our friends have seen lots of changes, some of them with new glasses. But I refuse to believe that we’re really getting older. That, despite the evidence of 3 new children (V) and how tall M has grown.

We know that everyone is very busy, as always, and we really appreciated people taking the time to see us: A; E and S; L and P (who inscribed her book for me!); N, GM and M; S (who I taught years ago how to curse at the computer); V (the younger); V (the older).

I’ll have more about the food later, but to give you a taste (yes, pun intended), we had a mix of local and non-local food, all tasty.
